EasyFreelance has several emergency preparedness procedures that may need to be considered in situations requiring crisis management and/or first aid.
1. Self-employed workers
Self-employed persons and umbrella employees who are not at the office must check their own safety at the workplace and check who has responsibility at each workplace and what protective equipment is required, and enquire about how it is used. Self-employed persons and self-employed workers shall also check which procedures for evacuation, first aid and crisis management apply at a workplace.s
2. Threats and violence
In the event of threats or violence against employees, the injured party shall always notify the employer of what has happened. Self-employed persons report this in accordance with their own procedure. The safety committee decides, on the basis of the circumstances, whether and which measures must be implemented.
3. Crisis management group
In the event of injuries at work, or private injuries that come to the employer's knowledge, depending on the circumstances and if it is considered appropriate, the crisis management group shall be called in to examine the consequences of this and how it affects both the victim, their colleagues and how the workload can be distributed. The employer encourages its employees to report injuries to the employer's knowledge if these may have an impact on the employee's work. Self-employed persons report injuries in accordance with their own procedure for this. In this work, the crisis management group cooperates with the management group in general in order to arrive at the best possible solutions for all those involved.
An investigation of the circumstances in each individual case is required. In the event of an injury, it shall be examined how the employee concerned is doing and what the employer can do to help them. Otherwise, the procedure for work adaptation and rehabilitation is followed when the person is to return to work. In the event of a death, the crisis management group and the management group shall assess how this affects the well-being of other personnel and how tasks are distributed in a good manner.
4. Terrorist attack
In the event of a terrorist attack that occurs but that does not affect the employees directly, the immediate manager should check that all employees are well in the circumstances. In this context, remember that such a situation may have an impact on the well-being of employees, even if they are not directly affected. Either a close relative or an acquaintance may have been affected, which may have a negative impact on an employee's work performance.
The management group, together with the safety committee, is otherwise convened in all cases where this is required in order to assess whether emergency measures must be implemented after the incident and how the business handles the situation in the best manner so that it does not have a negative impact on employees' well-being.
5. Duty of documentation
Accidents that occur at the head office are documented by the respective manager of the employee concerned, and accidents reported by self-employed persons are documented by the safety committee. This documentation is then examined by the management group together with the safety committee.
